Welcome to Coast Handmade, the place where you can find beautiful and unique batik gifts and casual apparel from Malaysia. We have put together this page of information to make your shopping experience with us as simple as possible, but if you can’t find the answer you’re looking for here please drop us an email.

ORDERING PROCESS AND SHIPPING TIMES

We ship worldwide using the Post Malaysia and process orders within 3-5 business days. 

If you order a number items and anything is out of stock, we will ship the available items to you first and bear the cost of shipping other items at a later date.

Once your order is shipped, we will send you a shipping confirmation email. Delivery within Malaysia takes between 3-7 working days.  Delivery to all other countries takes between 2-3 weeks depending on the efficiency of the postal service in your country.

Please note that your parcel must be signed for upon delivery. We therefore advise that you nominate an address for shipping where you will be during business hours. We regret that we cannot ship to post office boxes.

SPECIAL REQUESTS

If you would like your purchases to be gift wrapped and a personal card included, please provide the information at the notes field during checkout and we will be happy to oblige.

SHIPPING COSTS

Shipping charges are calculated by weight using Post Malaysia’s international rates. 

If you would prefer your purchase be shipped via Fedex or another carrier, please email us and we will try to accommodate your request. In this case the actual courier charges will be added to your bill. If you have an account with a particular courier please provide us the account number and name of the courier company.

TAXES AND DUTIES

Please be aware that your order may be subject to VAT, import duties and taxes, which are levied once your package reaches your country. For more information regarding your country's customs policies, please contact your local customs office.

If you are purchasing a gift from us which is to be shipped to them directly, please bear in mind that the recipient may be required to pay such duties and taxes in order to receive the order.

DAMAGED AND MISSING SHIPMENTS

Your purchase will be shipped in a plastic sleeve inside a padded bag which is generally sufficient to protect items from damage during shipping. However, should the products be damaged upon arrival, please notify us within seven days and return the item in its original packaging to us. We will credit your paypal account or ship replacement goods to you according to your request. 

If your purchase does not arrive within the timeframe stipulated above, please contact us. In the event your package is lost we will credit your Paypal account or ship replacement goods to you, according to your request.

PRODUCT DEFECTS

We take every effort to ensure all products sold are carefully checked for quality and consistency prior to shipping, however please be aware that you are purchasing a handmade product and minor imperfections in the batik printing process are inherent to the product and part of its charm and uniqueness.

Notwithstanding this, should any of your purchases not meet your quality expectations please contact us within seven days of receipt explaining the problem and we will respond to you within 24 hours.

RETURNS AND EXCHANGES

We hope you will be delighted with your purchase from us! However we know sometimes online purchasing is a bit tricky and an item may not be quite what you were expecting, so we do accept the return of undamaged merchandise in its original packaging, if notified within 7 days of receipt. Just return the undamaged item to us (you need to pay for the shipping) with proof of purchase and a refund of the cost of the products will be credited to your paypal account once we’ve received the goods.

COMPLIMENTS AND COMPLAINTS

After years in the corporate world we are fed up with the euphemism ‘feedback’. Fact is sometimes we get it wrong (not too often), so if you have a complaint about any of our products or anything else to do with our website please drop us an email and we will get back to you within 24 hours. On the other hand we also sometimes get it fabulously right – so if you’d like to compliment us, we’re all ears too…
